Under the title „die verlorene Form“ (Lost-wax casting, lost mould) Friday Exit is presenting various artistic positions with different approaches, whose which share the idea of thinking form as an ever reconfigurable and discursive element. Questions arise concerning the relevance and the potential of a critical artistic approach towards society and politics.
The “lost mould” is a term used in sculpture, when the technique of casting requires the destruction of the model as well as the negative. The procedure is therefore not suited for serial reproduction. The artistic works on display are thus breaking the mold to give space to a new way of thinking.
