FREITAGSLOS W. Sanja Lasic
Group Performance – Language Experiment
Idea and concept by Sanja Lasic
For the upcoming Freitagslos I am going to initiate a group-language-experiment that consists a monologue read by myself and followed by synchronized translations into other languages by amateur translator performers.
The performance deals with the difficulties of being understood.
With the help of other performers, I will try to recreate a moment, where translating my own thoughts, part of the important information gets lost. I am interested in the perception of public dealing with this lost.
Language as such is thought as very elastic form that helps us express what we think and who we are but sometimes the meaning of it gets lost in translation.
I invite you to actively participate in this performance and catch lost meanings of it.

FREITAGSLOS
Every other Friday (when there is no opening) there will be an open lottery, where everybody is welcome to participate.
It works like this: You put your name, phone number and e-mail on a piece of paper, and throw it into the lottery bowl. If your name gets picked you’re going to be the host of the next lottery event, which means you have 14 days to prepare something. Whether you want to build up a one-day-exhibition, prepare an event, a screening, a concert or something completely different depends on you. Chance is yours!
(You’ll have access to the space on that very Friday only, no longer.)
FRIDAY EXIT is part of xperiment, a cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts, Stiftung Lenikus and an open collective of students. Technical equipment sponsored by Ton+Bild Medientechn
